Well our mornings lately have been cooler and foggier! You can just feel Fall is right around the corner!! Martin and I are like kids in a candy store all excited for the crisp mornings and cool evenings that are almost here!! LOL You may just spy a little happy dance with our lighting of the fire pit for the first cool Fall night! I already have the marshmallows, chocolate and cookies ready to make S'mores!!
With the Fall season upon us are you decorating yet?? Of course the store has already been flipped to Fall and our house is slowly getting there. This morning before work, I made the cutest wooden pumpkin signs!! Using our IOD Transfers from the Whispering Willow set, I added these little mushrooms and I LOVE how they turned out!!!
It is SOOOO easy to use the transfers and I am always telling folks that these transfers make ANYONE into an artist!!!
Here is what I started out with. The pumpkins were so cute to start with, but I thought who doesn't need a little extra "bling" LOL
So when you are using the IOD transfers you just simply choose your favorite design and cut them out. Using the special transfer tool that comes with your pack, just position your transfer on your project. Be sure to remove the white backing paper. Then simply rub the image on to your surface! Don't worry about any little pieces that do not immediately adhere. Lay the transfer back down, rub again and gently lift up to see your progress!
After your image has adhered, take the clear grid paper and rub the image to finish it off!
ANDDDD there you go! All done!! Now if you would like, you may place Modge Podge over the surface as a protection from getting scratched. It isn't necessary if you think it will be fine! Here are a couple close up pictures and then all 6 that I completed!!
Well now the hard part is whether I should sell them or keep them all!!!! LOL
What do you all think???
Speaking of S'mores earlier, as always here is a tasty recipe for you all to enjoy!!
Caramel Skillet S’mores
Here’s a delicious dessert recipe you make in an oven-safe skillet. It’ll make your heart flutter just a bit (in a good way). Enjoy!
Ingredients
1 (11 oz.) tube refrigerated French bread dough
3 T. sugar
½ C. graham cracker crumbs
½ C. butter divided
1½ C. mini marshmallows
1 8 oz. pkg. mini Rolos candies
¼ C. chopped pecans
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°. Slice the dough into ten rounds. Cut each round into four equal pieces. In a big zippered plastic bag, mix the sugar and cracker crumbs; set aside.
Melt 5 tablespoons of the butter in a 10″ oven-proof skillet over low heat; swirl the skillet to coat with butter. Remove from the heat and set aside.
Melt the remaining 3 tablespoons butter in the microwave. Working with a few dough pieces at a time, dip them in melted butter and then coat in the set-aside crumb mixture. Arrange all coated pieces in the buttered skillet. Top with marshmallows and candies, pressing them gently into the dough. Sprinkle with pecans. Bake about 25 minutes or until the bread is done. Cool slightly before serving.
Enjoy the deliciousness!
