We are sure ready! (We will be flipping to Fall at the store over the weekend!!! YEAH!!!)
Our house celebrates a lot in the Fall months!
We have our anniversary, several birthdays and Thanksgiving! Whew it is a whirlwind for sure. The chilly mornings lately have made my Fall Fever kick in to super drive! I can't wait for "sweater weather", for scarves and jackets & especially boots!
Here's a picture from a couple years ago. (Maxwell has certainly "grown" a little since then LOL)
When I was little Fall was always my favorite season, besides Christmas, and it hasn't changed since then. I feel like I can just breath easier. When the time "falls" back, it seems to bring a little slower pace to life. I love that the weather is comfy to set out by our firepit (no mosquitos! Can I get an AMEN! ) with my blanket wrapped around me, roasting marshmallows to make smores, drinking piping hot cocoa and of course fixing all those warm yummy comfort foods!!
I definitely hope to share some of our favorite Fall recipes right here on the Blog as we get into the Fall season!
I have a countdown calendar for the first day of Fall and already picked out my GIF for that day! Then I can officially start those scrumptious suppers and tasty treats!!
(here's a sneak peek of my GIF lol)
I just love all the gorgeous colors that come with the cooler temps! The orange, yellow and red leaves. Not to mention the flowers such as chrysanthemums, asters, zinnias and more. Those breathtaking sunrises, sunsets and harvest moon. All are certainly God's beautiful works of art!!
Speaking of leaves, do you like to pile up all those leaves and then run to jump into them? I might be a little to old for that now but it's certainly fun to watch the kiddos partaking! If the wind is blowing while we rake them all up, our cats sure do! They will chase them around, pounce on them and then start the process all over again! ;)
Martin is busy working on all our super popular wooden Fall décor in his workshop. I can't wait to see what new creations he will come up with for this year. Don't fret, he will be bringing back the old favorites as well!
We have BIG plans for this Fall with all kinds of festivities!! Stay tuned and be on the look out for updates on our Facebook page!!!
Well I should probably wrap it up for this week. I wanted to share a quick Fall recipe that you can make from one of our Wind & Willow mixes that we will have available at the store soon! These have been a HUGE hit with everyone!! You will not want to miss making this for all those Fall get-togethers!! Especially as it is SOOOOO easy!!!!
(who doesn't mind easy, right??? LOL)
Ingredients
1 Turtle Cheesecake Mix
1 boxed brownie mix batter
8 oz. cream cheese
1 egg
Directions
Prepare boxed brownie mix (or your favorite brownie recipe) according to directions. Pour batter into an 8x8 pan, but do not bake until step 4.
Combine Cheeseball Mix and topping packet with room temperature cream cheese and one egg.
Place spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture on to the uncooked brownie batter. Dragging a knife over the surface of the brownies, gently swirl the two mixtures together - careful not to over mix.
Bake the brownie according to boxed directions, adding about 15-20 minutes to ensure both the brownie and the cheesecake swirl cook through. Your brownies will be cooked through when a toothpick comes out clean when poked into the center of the batter.
Optional: top with caramel or chocolate syrup. (Oh who are we kidding, just do both! LOL)
We sure hope you enjoy and let us know what you think! Thanks for reading our blog and being a part of our adventure! Stay tuned for more fun real soon!
Until then, blessing from our house to yours!!!
