Are those jingle bells we hear???

Updated: Aug 23

LOL just kidding! We do have some exciting things happening this weekend though! This is your official invitation to our Annual Christmas in July Event! Today was our kick off and what a great day! We can't wait to see you tomorrow or Saturday, you can even come both days if you want :)

We have some new and beautiful items, as well as some fan favorites. Get some early bird Christmas shopping done! Who wouldn't love to have a few things marked off the list as we get into the REAL Christmas season, right?!

Here is a little sneak peak of a few of the goodies!

Christmas vintage style mugs

We just adore these vintage ornament inspired mugs! Can't you just picture these filled with one of our in-house hot cocoa mixes sitting by the fire on a chilly Winter day?

Now talk about adorable, aren't these just the cutest!!! What a cute pair for sure!

We may have a thing for cute mugs...LOL Are you a mug collector? Be sure to check out all our mugs we have and grab some of our exclusive locally roasted coffees too!

quilted mitten tote

We have a large selection of our in-house one of a kind custom exclusively designed antique quilt block totes as well! The sewing machine has been super busy! We have our quilted ornaments available too.

Martin and I have been busy in the garden and it is coming along nicely. We even got to take advantage of the cooler morning the other day by having our breakfast out in the garden. It was so lovely. We are looking forward to the cooler weather so we can eat lunch or dinner out amongst the flowers and plants. If you have missed the pictures, be sure to go check them out on our social media posts!

What is growing well in your garden? Our cucumbers are coming in like nobodies business! I am about cucumbered out LOL! I have been taking full advantage of the abundance though by canning a bunch of pickles that most everyone has been purchasing. I love that we can be a part of feeding your family! :)

Speaking of eating LOL

Here is this weeks recipe~

With the Summertime heat, let's turn off the oven and make a delicious dinner sure to please everyone!

Fruited Balsamic Chicken

INGREDIENTS (Serves 2) Double for a family of 4 or if you just want leftovers LOL

2 T. olive oil

2 (5 to 6 oz.) chicken breast halves

½ C. chopped onion

Salt and pepper to taste

½ tsp. minced garlic

2½ T. balsamic vinegar

1½ tsp. honey

1 medium peach (ripe but still firm), sliced

1 C. pitted sweet cherries

Sliced fresh basil, optional

DIRECTIONS

Heat the oil in a medium skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and dump the onion around the outer edge of the skillet; season with salt and pepper. Fry the chicken a few minutes on each side, until golden brown, stirring the onion often. Transfer the chicken to a plate.

Add the garlic to the skillet with the onion and heat for 30 seconds or so. Stir in the vinegar and cook for a couple of minutes, until the liquid is reduced by about half. Stir in the honey, then add the peaches and cherries, tossing to coat.

Return the chicken and any accumulated juices to the skillet, nestling the pieces among the fruit; season everything with a little more salt and pepper. Cover the skillet, reduce heat to medium-low, and simmer for 7 to 8 minutes, until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°. Top with basil.

A great way to utilize the Summer fruits into a scrumptious dinner!
